Depart from Anchorage early in the morning and drive to the Kenai/Soldotna area. The drive takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, offering beautiful scenic views along the Seward Highway and Sterling Highway.
Arrive in Soldotna and embark on a guided fishing trip on the Kenai River, famous for its world-class salmon fishing. Target king salmon, sockeye salmon, or silver salmon, depending on the season.
Check into your accommodations in Soldotna or Kenai. Enjoy a local dinner, possibly with your catch of the day.
Enjoy a morning fishing session on the Kenai River or nearby lakes for rainbow trout and Dolly Varden.
Travel to Homer, approximately 1.5 hours drive south. Known as the "Halibut Fishing Capital of the World," Homer offers excellent halibut fishing opportunities.
Check into your accommodations in Homer. Explore the Homer Spit, enjoy dinner at a local seafood restaurant, and prepare for the next day's fishing adventure.
Book a full-day halibut fishing charter out of Homer. These charters also often target salmon, rockfish, and lingcod. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of Kachemak Bay and the surrounding mountains.
Return to Homer for another night. Visit the local shops and galleries, or head to the Homer Golf Course for a round of golf. Then enjoy fresh seafood for dinner at a local restaurant.
Depart early for Seward. You'll pass through Cooper Landing, another community situated along the Kenai River and another opportunity to fish!
Check into your accommodations in Seward. Explore the town and enjoy dinner at one of Seward's restaurants.
Take a morning fishing charter in Seward, targeting salmon or halibut.
Begin your journey back to Anchorage. If time allows, stop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center near Girdwood to see Alaskan wildlife up close.
Arrive back in Anchorage for your final night. Enjoy a farewell dinner, celebrating the successful fishing expedition.
