You can complete the Wyatt Earp Dexter Challenge however you like: as a 4-mile walk, an 8-mile run or a 12-mile bike ride. All racers make their way along Dexter Bypass Road and Dexter Creek, and over a 600-ft hill before the final descent into the old mining community of Dexter.
The race is held on a Saturday in late July or early August (check the Nome Visitors Center calendar for details on this year’s race). Register on the morning of the race at Old St. Joe’s Hall in Anvil City Square. There are prizes for the 1st and 2nd place men and women in each category, and t-shirts for all finishers.
