Whittier 4th of July Celebration

Every town has their 4^th of July traditions, and while small, Whittier’s is lots of fun. And, it’s the main community event of the year. It also doesn’t take itself too seriously! There’s a tiny parade through the downtown “triangle” (blink and you might miss it!). The kids decorate their bikes and ride through the streets, and the locals dress up in goofy outfits. The parade is followed by a BBQ and games. It’s a great opportunity to mingle with the locals and learn about life in small town Alaska.
