Welcome to Juneau

Check into your Juneau hotel and take some time to explore the nearby downtown area and its historical landmarks, shops, and scenic views. Then meet your group and guide for a delicious dinner.

Day 2

Glacier Flightseeing

Embark on a breathtaking three-hour flightseeing tour over the spectacular Juneau Icefield. Check out the snow-capped mountains and cascading waterfalls before landing at the Taku Glacier Lodge within the Tongass National Forest. Dine on wild Alaskan salmon and go for a stroll along wilderness trails. Then board The Safari Quest—a spacious, comfortable yacht with an onboard chef that will be home for the rest of the trip—and set sail toward Icy Strait to take in stunning coastal views.

Day 3

Kayaking and Glacier Bay National Park

Wake up on the water, then grab a paddle and kayak the waters of Icy Strait, paddling through giant bullwhip kelp that can grow up to 100 feet. Choose to ride a skiff out to a rocky outcropping where sea lions play or go for a hike with your naturalist guide to learn about Alaska’s marine life, plants, and geology. In the evening, you’ll sail into iconic Glacier Bay National Park—the early entry is a rare opportunity that’s exclusive to this itinerary.

Exploring Glacier Bay National Park

Venture far beyond the typical tourist routes of this stunning park, sailing into areas rarely seen by visitors. Take in the park’s remote beauty as you hike at the foot of glaciers and enjoy the breeze from nearby ice fields.

Admiralty Island and Baranof Island

Wildlife abounds on Admiralty Island, known as the "Fortress of the Bear" by the Tlingit people. Look for brown bears, eagles, and more as you kayak the island’s secluded bays. Then make a stop at Baranof Island, home to the historic town of Sitka and dense temperate rainforests. Take a scenic hike to a lake and unwind in natural hot springs.

Day 6

Whale Watching and Lighthouse Exploration

Sail into Frederick Sound and watch for humpback whales as well as orcas. Cruise past Alaska’s oldest lighthouse, the Five Fingers, as well as The Brothers Islands, where sea lions relax on rocky outcroppings.

More Whale Watching and Kayaking

Dawes Glacier and Endicott Arm

Check out harbor seals basking on icebergs as you sail through Endicott Arm, on your way to the narrow, dramatic Fords Terror, where you’ll be surrounded by steep walls and waterfalls. End up at Dawes Glacier, where you’ll enjoy the very Alaskan experience of watching massive chunks of ice calve off and land with a thunderous splash.
