The White Elephant Shop is Sitka’s eclectic thrift store, run by the community volunteers to benefit local non-profit organizations. Since it opened, it’s returned more than $1 million back to the community. It boasts a large selection, including Alaska souvenirs, clothing, books, housewares and games. A recent shopper found a designer raincoat for $6. It’s only open about 10 hours per week, so phone ahead for hours.
