During the summer months, the lot behind the Sullivan Roadhouse is converted to a Farmer’s Market, which runs each Wednesday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In the early part of the season, you’ll find plants, organic flours, handmade products (like pottery, beadwork, knitted goods, artwork, lip balms and salves), and historical books about the area. Food stands, meanwhile, brim with market favorites like soft pretzels, hot dogs and fries.
In later June and July, the fresh produce from area farms start appearing and the market gets even livelier, as shoppers take advantage of the short-but-bountiful Alaska growing season.
