Established in 1924, The Tanana Valley State Fair seeks to highlight and enhance appreciation for Interior Alaska by showcasing competitive and commercial exhibits during an annual Fair with wide community appeal. The Tanana Valley State Fair is the oldest in Alaska, and the farthest north in the United States. Some of the oldest ongoing competitions at the Fair, dating back to at least 1926, include the Baby Show, Most Attractively Decorated Booth, and the Giant Cabbage Contest. New events include The Competitive Exhibits Scavenger Hunt, Track & Field, The Alaska Heritage Day Fiddle Fest, Adult Hula Hoop Competition, Fairbanks Has Talent & more!
