Orca whales and porpoises. 1.1 mile moderately difficult trail to Spurt Lake starts 1/4 mile northeast; trailhead marked by red/white diamond. Access difficult without boat). Thomas Bay area offers numerous options for single and multi-day trips: Baird, Muddy and Patterson Glaciers, Scenery Cove and Cosmos Mountain Range. Kayaking in protected waters of Thomas Bay.
