Ski Inn

Nestled in the Chugach Mountains and just 40 miles from Anchorage, Girdwood is an Alaskan gem and a hub of outdoor adventure. And right in the heart of it all is the charming Ski Inn. Centrally located and close to restaurants, this seven-room inn comes infused with charm, and some rooms also boast great views of the world-famous Alyeska Ski Resort and surrounding mountains.

All seven rooms welcome guests with plush, luxury bedding and distinctive décor. There are a variety of floor plans, and each is just slightly different. Five rooms have private bathrooms, and all rooms on the first floor are dog-friendly.

New owners took over in 2021, and their focus is on exceptional hospitality. Each morning, you’ll enjoy a light breakfast of bagels and spreads, yogurts, oatmeal, fresh fruit, coffee, and orange juice. Leaving early? No problem; just ask for a grab-and-go! In the evening, relax in the comfortable lobby with a drink and meet your fellow travelers.

Friendly local staffers are on hand to help with insider information about restaurant hot spots and local events. And the Girdwood Shuttle has a stop just outside the inn, making trips around town super-convenient, whether you’re going the resort to ski or want to catch the train to Anchorage, Whittier, Seward, or Spencer Glacier.

Outside the inn, Alaska is at your doorstep. In summer, you can access the extensive trail system or use Girdwood as a jumping-off point for nearby tours like flightseeing, dog sledding, day cruises to see glaciers, and much more. And in winter, some of the best skiing on the planet is just steps away.

Groups up to 18 can rent the inn for events and weddings, and the owners can help with unique ideas, like renting a food truck. Just ask!

  • Ski View Room: Queen bed, private bath, view of Alyeska Ski Resort, Roku TV, and mini-fridge. Sleeps 2.
  • South Face Room: Queen bed, on the second floor, shared bathroom with shower just down the hall. Sleeps 2.
  • Ridge Room: Two queen beds, on the second floor, Roku TV, closet, mini-fridge, private bathroom with tub and shower. Sleeps 4.
  • Inlet View Room: Full size bed, large south-facing windows, mountain views, private bathroom with shower. Sleeps 2.
  • Chugach Room: 2 queen beds, Roku TV, closet, mini-fridge, private bathroom with shower, dog-friendly, ADA-accessible room. Sleeps 4.
  • Park View Room: Queen bed, Roku TV, view of the town square park, and a private bath. Sleeps 2.
  • Valley View Room: Queen bed, Roku TV, shared bathroom with shower down the hall. Sleeps 2.
