Kake’s modest public library, located at the high school, offers public wi-fi, computers, and limited programming such as story time and yoga. When open, it’s a great place to stop and check your email or chat with Kake’s residents.
For this small community of 600, the public library is a symbol of working together to reinvigorate an essential community resource. In 1999, the public library in Kake closed because it didn’t have a librarian to oversee the collection, In 2015, Kake City School District, the City of kake and the community worked together with a VISTA volunteer to renovate the library.
