Even if you’re just visiting the core of downtown Ketchikan, it would take you a few days to walk and see all the points of interest. With a good plan, you could double those sites by renting an electric cart.
The family-owned Rain Barrel Electric Carts has been providing this service for a few years and it’s a great option for those who are short on time or who have limited mobility.
Zip right along up to 25-miles an hour in a cute little battery-operated red or blue “car” that seats up to four. You can head to the Totem Heritage Center and Cape Fox Lodge, to the waterfall, and out and about Ketchikan all day long without recharging. At a max of 25-miles an hour, you do need to stick to the low-speed roads of Ketchikan proper.
Rentals are first-come, first-served, or you can hold one with a non-refundable reservation fee. Find The Rain Barrel at the end of Main St in front of the Ketchikan Lumberjack Show, or contact them ahead of time.
