Camp in this scenic, amenity-packed campground in the town of Palmer, just 45 minutes north of Anchorage. Surrounded by breathtaking views of the Chugach and Talkeetna Mountains, you’ll be perfectly situated to explore the area. Only 35 minutes away, Hatcher Pass offers fantastic trails in the Talkeetna Mountains and the historic charm of Independence Mine State Historical Park with its abandoned mining buildings.
Campground Amenities
At the campground, you’ll find sites for tents and RVs (both back-ins and pull-throughs), as well as 4 cabins. There’s a central bathhouse with showers and laundry; you can play horseshoes and cornhole and enjoy the playground’s swings, slides, and climbing wall.
There’s also Wi-Fi, a general store, wood and propane available to purchase, a covered pavilion with picnic tables, and an on-site nature trail. There’s also a dog run if you’re traveling with your pooch.
Nearby Adventures
It’s a little over an hour to the Matanuska Glacier, where you can see the glacier from the road, or take a guided trek to get up close and walk on the ice. The campground also makes for a great stopover if you’re driving north; it’s just 1.5 hours from Talkeetna and 3.5 hours from Denali National Park.
