Nice wide trail out of Prospect Heights Trail Head. Take the trail to the left after about 200 feet down the main trail, and follow the trail until you reach the creek. There is another trail off to the right, just after the creek, but that one will not take you to Near Point. Further down, small trails come off to the left that take you to trailheads at Stuckagain Heights neighborhood, and the well marked Wolverine trailhead will be seen on the right even further down. Stay on the main trail, go straight (as possible) and eventually you will come out of the woods for a nice view of the city. Some people elect to follow the ridgeline further back and that can take you to many more peaks, and views.
