The trail begins at the state highway gravel pit and continues westward about 8 miles towards the Gulkana National Wild River. Users must stay on the trail at all times. The trail boasts outstanding views of Paxson Lake and the surrounding hills. Primary use is motorized, however hiking is becoming more popular. Motorized hunting restrictions apply. There is parking at the trailhead.
