This cozy 12 x 14 cabin is tucked into the forest inside the Eagle Beach State Recreation Area about 15 miles up the coast from Juneau on the island-rich Favorite Channel of Lynn Canal. Located about a half-mile up the campground road, Marten Cabin offers a bit of privacy amid the big trees, with more immediate access to the trails along the river than the area’s other coastal-oriented cabins. Whether sunny or raining, the old growth coastal setting is off-the-scale gorgeous, the essence of Southeast Alaska.
Facilities
The cabin features sleeping platforms, a table with benches and a kerosene heater. Outside is a fire ring and a picnic table. The 590-acre recreation area features two reservable picnic shelters, RV and primitive camping, a boat launch and hiking trails.

Guests are expected to leave the cabin clean, swept out, and pack out trash before leaving. Don’t assume there will be sufficient toilet paper or working batteries in the smoke detector.
