Lynx Creek Pizza & Pub
The only pizza option at the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge—and arguably the best pizza in the area—this log-cabin restaurant serves pizzas piled with toppings and a tangy marinara sauce on a crisp, medium-thick crust. It’s always made fresh and cooked in the specialty pizza oven, so you might have to wait a bit for your pie. But the deck and bar are great spots to pass the time; you’ll find 12 beers on tap, a big-screen television, and plenty of sun exposure.
This is the most casual dining option at the Lodge, set in a rustic log cabin filled with wooden tables and chairs. Historic photos of the regions original families line the log walls, and mounted Dall sheep rest above the stone fireplace. Place an order at the window, and then find a table. The chicken bacon ranch pizza is a favorite; it’s a unique pie with ranch sauce, topped with three cheeses, moist chicken, crisp bacon, and tomatoes. But there are also more traditional pizzas, as well as pesto pizzas, and sometimes you’ll find specials on cheese or pepperoni pizzas.
Lynx also has big salads, wings, Panini sandwiches, and calzones. And the lunch special is a good deal; a slice, salad, and drink for under $12. There’s also ice cream—get a cone or a sundae!
Late in the evening, the bar can get hopping. So if you’re looking for some nighttime entertainment in the Alaska wilderness, this pub is the spot!
