History
This park was acquired in 1962 through purchase and donation. The park is named for the donor Mr. Lyn Ary who came to Alaska from Russia after World War 1. He homesteaded all the land west of Turnagain Parkway. Upon his death and after payment of funeral expenses a portion of his homestead was dedicated for public use as parkland. The first development of the park was a Babe Ruth baseball field. In 1971 improvements were made with a tennis court, drinking fountain & picnic furniture.
