Kodiak Photo Workshop: Talkeetna Backcountry

Try something new for fall foliage season this year: Take a photo workshop amid the stunning colors of Alaska! Reds and golds fill the landscape as snow starts to sprinkle down onto the mountain tops. And on this expedition, you may even get views of Mt. Denali as you photograph bears and caribou roaming the Alaskan tundra.

A Mountain Retreat Near Denali

You’ll travel to a remote lodge in the Talkeetna Mountains, southeast of Denali National Park, via floatplane or helicopter from Talkeetna. Stay in cozy, rustic cabins with immaculate outhouses and a shower house; each has a king-size bed or two twins and a small deck with views of the lake and mountains. Enjoy lunches out on your excursions, and dig into home-cooked, family-style meals at the lodge that include housemade items like breads, granola, cookies, and pastries, and desserts.

Get their tips to capture amazing shots of this wildlife-rich area, surrounded by the colorful trees; in the evenings, edit your pictures with them to make your images even better.
