Majestic bears in the wild are a sight to behold—and make for amazing photos. This intimate trip takes you to a premium spot to see bears with professional photographers and offers luxury lodge accommodations and gourmet meals.
Photographing Kodiak Bears
This experience happens near the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge, which has lots of bears and other wildlife. And you’ll be there for the famous Fat Bear Week, when bears are fattened up from having gorged on salmon all summer. Because your group will be the only one in the area, you’ll have these beautiful creatures all to yourselves as you explore locations near gorgeous Karluk Lake. Of course, you’ll get professional shooting and editing tips along the way from professional photographers Dan M. Lee, Jessica Haydahl Richardson, or Mick Ryan.
Lodge on The Lake
Each night, you’ll return to the exclusive lodge on Karluk Lake, which features 4 bright, modern cabins with power, heat, running water, and a private covered patio. Take in views of the lake and surrounding mountains (and look for wildlife) from the large picture window in the common area. And enjoy meals full of locally caught seafood and fresh vegetables, as well as chicken, beef, pork and more, along with decadent desserts.
*Note: Kodiak Photo Workshop recommends staying in Kodiak the day before you depart for the lodge, as well as the day after, so you can enjoy Kodiak and avoid any potential weather delays.
