Access
Float plane or canoe along Honker Divide Canoe Route. Launch canoe at Hatchery Creek bridge. 6 miles to cabin takes 7-8 hours. Canoe route recommended at moderate to high water. Several portages and difficult upstream paddling.
Terrain
Gently rolling with old growth spruce, hemlock, cedar forest. Understory generally dense with huckleberry and salmonberry bushes.
Special Features
Abundant waterfowl, especially Canada geese (honkers). Good fishing in lake for cutthroat, rainbow, Dolly Varden; some coho, sockeye. Sitka black-tail deer, black bear, wolves. Scenic paddling in lake and along Honker Divide Canoe Route. Hike extensively along lake's edge.

Cabin is remote and isolated. Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. Canoe route recommended at moderate to high water. In fall, winter, and early spring, the cabin may be inaccessible due to frozen lake surface (float planes cannot land). Lake may be frozen as early as November 1st or as late as May 30.
