This may be Anchorage’s most eccentric park: It’s home to a beguiling mix of tennis courts, the Anchorage Curling Club, and a Square Dance Club.
4.7 acres
Features
Parking is available for 100 cars. 2 tennis courts, a basket ball court, a curling clubhouse, and a square dance center. There is also an adopt-a-garden.
History
This park was leased from the Alaska Railroad (Department of Interior) in 1961 with a signed 40 year lease. The park included the old Alaska Railroad Club building located on Mystic Way. The building was heated by stream heat furnished by the Air Force. In 1980 plans were made to renovate the building. Currently the building is operated by the Curling Club and the city maintains the property. There are two buildings, one for curling and another for the Square Dance Club.
