Catamaran Cruising

This 38-foot-long catamaran is perfect for exploring the shimmering waters of Resurrection Bay—you’ll even have the chance to paddle around in kayaks. In an intimate group of no more than 6 guests, you can relax on board or sit out on the catamaran’s netting. On cooler or rainy days the warm deck tent has comfortable seating for everyone on board. Look for wildlife like sea lions, whales, and puffins as you cruise the waters, taking in the view of mountains, waterfalls, and endless ocean.

Sailing & Wildlife Viewing Day Tour

See Seward from the bay as you set off on this full-day tour. You’ll sail toward Fox Island and the El Dorado Narrows to check out spectacular waterfalls. Then head over to Rugged Island to check out sea lions relaxing on rocks, and keep an eye out for whales, which love to ply these waters. And because the boat carries 4 tandem kayaks, you can paddle out onto the waters and get even closer to nature. Optional excursions from the boat include kayaking around a calm cove for a portion of the day, or getting dropped off for a hike on shore. Happy Puffin will pick you back up on the beach when you’re done and sail you back to Seward.

Multi-Day Sailing, Kayaking & Camping Adventure

Go out on a 3-day, all-inclusive expedition that lets you explore this gorgeous area in-depth. You’ll start by sailing out to Aialik Glacier, then set up camp and enjoy a delicious dinner cooked over an open fire. The next day, paddle out in a kayak for an up-close view of this ancient river of ice and look for seals lounging on floating icebergs. Enjoy another night of camping in the Alaskan wilderness before heading back to Seward. All camping equipment and meals are provided.

Happy Puffin has a smaller boat that they can use to ferry you to a destination in the evenings and early mornings.

Kayak Support

Paddle out into bigger waters or take a long-distance kayak trip with the boat as support. You’ll always be in radio contact, and the company can even come out and set up camp for you!
