Zip down the 42-foot Master Blaster waterslide, float lazily through the Never Ending River, get tossed around in the wave pool and check out the Sea Dragon Pirate Ship Playground. H2Oasis is Alaska’s only water park, and it’s a hit: open year-round and only twenty minutes from downtown Anchorage. Alaskans come for some tropical fun—it’s 84 degrees inside even when the parking lot is packed with snow! And in summer months, it’s a great place for rainy days or when you’re looking to play in water that isn’t glacial.
The water park is inside a large, open three-story building, and the largest rides run from ceiling to pool, from fast straight chutes to winding body slides. For kids, there’s the Children’s Lagoon—with 7 small slides and a playground. The park hosts Toddler Playtime during the school year with deals for kids and adults coming in free (the big rides aren’t open though!).
On the second floor, there’s a large picnic area with a café serving up pizza and burgers, hot dogs, subs and soft ice cream. It’s a great place for a birthday party or special event, and they put together party packages. They also host exercise classes, swim lessons, even individual wave therapy lessons.
So step inside the balmy climate for some warm water fun and thrills!
