12 foot x 14 foot (3.65 m x 4.25 m) hunter-style cabin with wooden cooler box for food storage.
Facilities
2 double plywood bunks, 2 single plywood bunks, Table and benches, Oil stove (#1 stove oil only, NOT provided), Broom, Outhouse toilet. Water available from catchment. Treat all water before using.

Gut Island on Stikine River tideflats.
Access
The cabin is 12 miles by floatplane or shallow draft boat from Wrangell, or 7 miles from the boat ramp on the south end of Mitkof Island.
Terrain
Flat, grass and shrubs on tideflats. Cabin on low rock outcropping amid spruce and hemlock trees.
Special Features
Waterfowl, shorebirds, bald eagles, owls, hawks. Good bird viewing (spring and fall migrations). Waterfowl hunting (fall). Located in Stikine-LeConte Wilderness; Gut Island #2 Cabin a few hundred feet east. Trail connects the 2 cabins.
