Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a kid-free adventure on the Kenai Peninsula, Escape for Two is the perfect B&B. Near Soldotna, this adults-only inn offers two cabins set on a small lake and surrounded by 40 acres of pristine Alaskan wilderness. Elegantly rustic, the upscale cabins blend into the landscape, but offer modern amenities like heated towel racks, surround-sound, and full kitchens. For a special weekend, add a romance package, which includes roses, chocolate, wine, gourmet cheeses, or strawberries.
Choose from the Moose or Dragonfly cabins, built by owners Bruce and Loni Galloway. Both have stainless-steel grills on the deck, full kitchens, flatscreen TVs with DVD players, Wi-Fi, surround-sound, and views of the lake. And both feature king-size beds with luxurious sheets and duvets. The Moose cabin is slightly larger, with a sleeping loft and jetted bathtub for two, while the Dragonfly cabin has its own private gazebo and an outdoor two person hot tub on your deck.
The cabins are popular with Alaskans, especially in winter. The B&B is known for its romantic setting, great Northern Lights viewing opportunities, and nearby cross-country skiing. In summer, it’s the perfect spot for fishing (it’s mid-way between the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers), hiking adventures, and trips to Homer or Seward.
Bruce and Loni live on the property and are gracious hosts—their hospitality shows in everything from candles and flowers in the cabins to fridges, which come stocked with fresh fruit, eggs, juice, coffee, and assorted breads. Loni also will set up your cabin for “Romance Packages,” which range from a single rose and chocolates to a dozen long-stems with gourmet deli cheeses and a bottle of bubbly.
Settle in for a romantic stay or use the B&B as a base for an adults-only adventure.
