Why Take This Hike?

The Curry Ridge Trail is a newly constructed trail (2016) that departs from the Kesugi K'en Campground complex, and climbs moderately (1100 ft in about 3.5 miles) up Curry Ridge. On a clear day, hikers are rewarded with stunning views of Mt. Denali in the distance.

The Details

Starting at the trailhead, located within the Kesugi K'en campground complex, you'll set off on a gradual ascent, gently climbing 1100 feet. The lower portion of the trail includes a bridge over streams and towering trees. The trail unfolds before you, leading to the lower bench of Curry Ridge. Throughout your hike, you'll be treated to sweeping vistas the Alaska Range and Mt. Denali, standing tall and proud on the horizon. As the trail winds its way upward, you'll eventually break free from the trees at 1500 feet. The trail ends at Lake 1787, but there are plans to continue construction on the trail.
