If you’re looking for a wide selection of reasonably-priced, authentic and high quality Native art, then you must visit Crazy Wolf on Mission Street. This museum-like shop is locally-owned by Ken and Monica Decker and offers silver jewelry, carvings, lithographs, bentwood boxes, hand-made drums and a line of unique t-shirts designed by Ken himself.
Crazy Wolf sits at top of the list in its classic selection of all the Native arts and the sheer volume of items in the store. Ken and Monica can tell you about each piece, especially since they personally know many of the artists, who hail from as far north as Barrow and south to British Columbia.
Ken is of Tsimshian descent and is one of the most accessible of our native carvers. He has completed a number of apprenticeships in carving and drum-making, and you can find a variety of his creations in the store as well.
Wander through Crazy Wolf and find something that meets your budget and taste for authentic craftsmanship. Even better than the selection is the chance to talk with Ken about each piece as he sits carving at the front of the store.
