The chase trail begins just beyond the parking area on S Railroad Ave in Downtown Talkeetna. The 5.5 mile trail is wide, flat, graded with gravel, and parallels the Alaska Railroad Tracks. It’s a multi-use trail and you’ll see folks hiking, biking, and ATV’ing in the summer, and cross-country skiing in the winter. The further you get from town, you’ll see offshoots to private properties along the rail belt. Please respect their privacy.
