The Cannonball Snowmachine Race, in April, is one event where you get to see the action close up and pick out your favorites as they speed by…over and over again. Plant yourself at Beam Road to watch racers tear up the trail on multiple laps around Nome and the surrounding countryside. The Arctic Cats and Skidoos fly by, with riders deftly navigating the 25-mile route, including a 1-2 mile stretch over the frozen ice of the Bering Sea.
