Spend a few hours or a full day fly-fishing in the wilderness on this authentic Alaskan adventure from Juneau with Bear Creek Outfitters—a pioneer in fly-out fishing (and bear viewing) in this area for 25 years.
You’ll travel by floatplane, allowing you to quickly and easily get out into the gorgeous Tongass National Forest—the biggest national forest in the country. It’s a great activity for cruise ship passengers and perfect for everyone from beginners to pros.
The Experience
Once you’re picked up and outfitted with high-quality waders and top-rated fishing gear, you’ll board your floatplane and enjoy a stunning flight to your remote forest location. The exact location will change based on fishing, river, and weather conditions—but since Bear Creek has a whopping 65 different permitted fishing locations, your guides will find the perfect spot for that day.
Then get ready to cast your line for the salmon, char, and trout that Alaska is famous for. Experienced anglers can get started right away. No experience? No problem! Your expert guides will walk you through the basics of fly fishing and always be on hand for any questions.
All fishing is catch and release, so while you won’t get to send home what you catch, you will enjoy this iconic Alaskan experience in a gorgeous setting. Hint: Keep an eye out for wildlife like eagles, bears, and deer.
Snacks and beverages are provided, and full-day tours include a delicious shore lunch.
