Ease into the Alaskan backcountry as you float along this gorgeous river, keeping an eye out for eagles, moose, Dall sheep, and bears, as well as waterfowl. No experience is necessary, and you’ll get all the equipment you need, including life jackets, rain gear, and rubber boots.

You’ll set off from a peaceful, private dock, away from the crowds. Then wind your way through gorgeous, remote areas of the Kenai River as you look for wildlife and take in the gorgeous scenery around you. Bring your lunch and you’ll be able to enjoy it during a relaxing break in the trip.

Upper Kenai River Scenic Float Trip

This mild, gentle, leisurely float trip lasts 2-3 hours, depending on the timing and water level, and is suitable for all ages and abilities. You’ll enjoy floating through the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, looking for wildlife, and taking in the beautiful views of the Kenai Mountains.

Full-day Kenai Canyon Rafting Trip

Travel about 17 river miles through the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge to the mouth of the upper Kenai River on this 6.5-hour tour. You’ll wind through remote areas with some Class II rapids as you take in the Alaskan wilderness around you. Depending on conditions, you may either hike out for 1.8 miles on the Hidden Creek Trail or take a boat across Skilak Lake to take out at the Upper Skilak boat launch.

All trips meet at the Alaska Rivers Company office for check-in and gear outfitting. Guests are then transported to local boat launches in the Cooper Landing area, a 5-10 minute drive from the office.
