A Day on the Water
Go fishing with the pros out of Seward for iconic Alaskan fish. You’ll be aboard the M/V Sea Quest—a 46-foot catamaran that’s the only charter vessel in Seward with an upper viewing deck. This lets you sightsee or have lunch on the upper deck while watching the action below. A favorite among locals, the Sea Quest is not only the largest of the town’s big boats, but it’s also the newest and fastest, which lets you travel further and faster to get where the fish are. By design, catamarans are wider and more stable than any other boat—great news for those prone to seasickness. Inside you’ll find a large and heated interior, indoor seating for everyone, tables, and unlimited coffee and tea.
Then it’s time to fish! Captain and vessel owner, Sean Carlin, and his professional crew are out every day, sharing their passion for fishing with everyone onboard. The Sea Quest only uses high-quality gear, from top of line rod and reel down to the tackle and hook. Whether you’re a pro yourself or have never wet a line before, Capt. Sean and the crew will ensure you have an epic fishing experience. Depending on the time of the season, you may be fishing for big halibut, silver salmon, or rockfish. On select days when halibut fishing is closed, you can experience the beauty of the Kenai Fjords National Park while viewing wildlife and fishing for rockfish, a combo that allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds. Your crew aboard the Sea Quest will fillet your fish on the ride home, then will walk with you back to the dock where you can get it vacuum-packed, frozen, or shipped home.
Alaska Northern Outfitters prides itself on being the first boat out and the last boat in each day, ensuring everyone has maximum opportunity to get their catch and they have a blast doing it.
