Western Sandpiper

The Western Sandpiper ranges throughout North America but only breeds along the western coast of Alaska. Because the breeding grounds are so limited, Western Sandpipers tend to arrive and depart within days of each other, meaning that as many as 6,500,000 individuals pass through certain locations in a matter of weeks.
