Red-breasted Nuthatches

Red-breasted Nuthatches are usually seen paling around with Chickadees and Woodpeckers. Always energetic and cute to boot, this little bundle of red, gray, white and black is fun to watch. An interesting characteristic of this species is its affinity for putting sticky resin from trees around the entrance hole to its home which is thought to discourage predation.
