King Salmon (Chinook)

The King Salmon is one of Alaska's most sought after species because of its size and relative scarcity. They average 10-50lbs but have been known to reach 130lbs or more. They are identified by their blue-green or purple coloration on the back and silvery sides that give way to shades of red and purple as they begin spawning.
