Collared Pika

The Collared Pika lives among boulder fields in the central and southern parts of Alaska. It looks somewhat like a mouse and spends much of the summer collecting vegetation which it stores in mini hay piles under rocks for consumption during the winter. Pika don't hibernate so it's possible, although not likely, to see one during the winter.
