Black-footed Albatross

This dark albatross frequents the northern Pacific Ocean and rears its young on the Hawaiian Islands. It can be seen on the coast of North America although it mainly lives at sea. Two unique adaptations of the black-footed albatross are its keen sense of smell that guides it to food on the open seas and glands above the eyes that enable it to drink salt water.
