American Tree Sparrow

One of the most readilly identified birds of North America, the American Tree Sparrow is a common sight throughout the continent. It's estimated that as many as 20million breeding pairs exist so the population is thriving. The Tree Sparrow spends most of its time foraging because it can lose 30% of its weight in one day of fasting, usually a death sentence.
