Paddle the shoreline of Resurrection Bay, where encounter with sea otters, seabirds, and spawning salmon are common. Choose from a variety of 3-hour excursions—most popular for the day/overnight traveler—or a full-day trip.

Spend a day at remote Fox Island enjoying one of Sunny Cove's three wilderness paddles of the secluded coves and sea stacks. Combine a half day of sea kayaking with a wildlife cruise of Resurrection Bay, or a full day kayaking for those wanting a more active day. With any of these tours you have a chance to see whales, harbor seals, sea otters, puffins, and other marine birds as well as spectacular scenery. Tours also include transport to and from Fox Island and a salmon bake lunch or dinner.

Or go on the Kenai Fjords National Park Grand Day Tour. Sunny Cove's charter boat will transport you to Aialik (pronounced 'eye-al-ick') Bay with stops along the way to view wildlife. There are opportunities to see whales, harbor seals, Stellar sea lions, tufted and horned puffins, bald eagles, Dall's porpoise and more.

After a lunch aboard the boat, the kayaks are launched so you can paddle amidst some of the most spectacular scenery that coastal Alaska has to offer. Crackling icebergs, towering glaciers and wildlife encounters will bedazzle your senses as you spend the afternoon paddling.

Details: No experience necessary. Tours are suitable for both novices and skilled paddlers. Minimum age requirement: 12 years for full-day trips and 8 years for shorter trips (some exceptions). All kayaking trips include sea kayaking instruction, tandem sea kayaks, gear and professional guides. Rubber boots are included.

What To Bring

Please bring an adventurous spirit, appropriate clothing (warm layers, polypropylene and/or fleece, and raingear), hat, and gloves.
Cameras, binoculars, a full water bottle, and smiles are also recommended.
Sunny Cove has some raingear available.

Directions

Your meeting time and location depends on your trip. Sunny Cove's reservation office is located in the Adventure Center building in the Small Boat Harbor, about one block into town from the highway. It's a two-story log building to the right of Kenai Fjords Tours. Some of their tours launch from Lowell Point, which is two miles south of town, down Lowell Point Road.

Payment Policy

Sunny Cove requires payment for day tours at time of booking. They accept Visa, MasterCard, and personal checks.
	Cancellation Policy
Our cancellation policy for standard Fox Island and Lowell Point Day Tours is as follows: 15 days before departure – full refund 14 – 0 days before departure – no refund. This policy does not apply to custom or private day tours. Please see group policy. Although Sunny Cove rarely cancels trips, they reserve the right to cancel any trip for any reason that would make the operation of the trip inadvisable. If Sunny Cove cancels a trip, they will refund all payments made. This refund will be the limit of their liability. Sunny Cove will cancel a tour if weather makes paddling unsafe. Sunny Cove does not cancel tours solely on account of rain. Sea kayaking is an activity that remains fun rain or shine. Cancellations due to weather may be rescheduled or refunded. Weather cancellations will be left to their discretion based on field experience.
