The Holiday Inn Express Seward Harbor sits right on the boardwalk in Seward with spectacular views of either the Small Boat Harbor or Mt. Marathon, and it’s just one block from the Alaska Railroad Depot. Opened in 2005, the Seward Holiday Inn Express is one of the newest hotels in town. It’s a very comfortable hotel that is full of amenities; it is also the only hotel in Seward that has a pool. And it’s only one mile to downtown, with good restaurants even closer. In the summertime, there’s a free shuttle.
With just 82 rooms—some featuring balconies—it is an intimate hotel loaded with all the conveniences of a much larger property, like goose-down comforters on every bed. Walk into the homey lobby with a big central fireplace and overstuffed chairs. Here you can book your glacier cruise, get an espresso, or buy a special Alaskan gift. Each room has a coffee maker, and half the rooms have a refrigerator and microwave.
In the morning, sit down to a complimentary continental buffet breakfast in the two-story breakfast room with floor to ceiling windows offering a fabulous view of Resurrection Bay and the Seward Harbor. Watch the cruise ships come in as you enjoy cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, biscuits and sausage gravy.
You can book tours in the lobby, with several tour operators based in the hotel.
Parking is available for oversized vehicles if you are driving an RV or towing a boat.
