Kenai & Denali Journey - Tour 940
This trip combines the premium Kenai Peninsula wilderness with the magical upland tundra of Denali National Park. Both the Kenai and Denali portions feature two-night stays at classic Alaskan lodges.

Anchorage Day 1 • Anchorage
Meet your Trip Leader in Anchorage at 8:00 AM. Enjoy a full day raft trip on the scenic Kenai River, watching for moose, bald eagles, and salmon. Cross a glacier-carved lake to Kenai Backcountry Lodge, where you’ll overnight in the Wilderness of Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.
Kenai Backcountry Lodge Day 2 • Kenai Backcountry Lodge
Hike to alpine tundra with your guide or join a guided exploration of the lake in a motorized skiff. In the evening, paddle kayaks under the midnight sun (weather permitting), or relax in the historic log lodge.
Kenai Backcountry Lodge/Talkeetna

Day 3 • Kenai Backcountry Lodge/Talkeetna
Travel northward to historic Talkeetna, gateway to the Alaska Range. Take an optional flightseeing trip to Mt. McKinley (Denali) or stroll through this quaint town. Overnight in Talkeetna.

Talkeetna/Denali National Park

Day 4 • Talkeetna/Denali National Park
Continue northward to Denali National Park. Take a Denali Wildlife Drive on a private bus to Kantishna Roadhouse, where you’ll overnight. Search for moose, caribou, Dall sheep, grizzly bears, and migratory birds en route.

Denali National Park

Day 5 • Denali National Park
Enjoy a full day of exploration and hiking in the Kantishna region of Denali National Park. Hike with trained guides or choose other activities including mountain biking on mining trails, gold panning and interpretive programs.

Denali National Park/Anchorage

Day 6 • Denali National Park/Anchorage
Morning wildlife drive to park entrance. Bid farewell to your Trip Leader and board the historic Alaska Railroad for your ride to Anchorage, arriving around 8:30 PM. (Dinner and transfers not included, train to Fairbanks arranged upon request at time of booking.)
