Anchorage/Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge Day 1 • Anchorage

Arrive in Anchorage today, Alaska’s largest city. Transfer from the airport via hotel courtesy shuttle. Overnight in downtown Anchorage. (Or purchase meet & greet with transfer service upgrade)

Anchorage/Valdez Day 2 • Anchorage/Valdez
After an included breakfast, board a deluxe motorcoach for your grand adventure to Valdez. Drive through the Matanuska Valley where they grow world record, monster vegetables in the 24-hour daylight. Stop by to photograph Worthington Glacier for a look at this gigantic piece of ice.  Arrive early this evening in Valdez, nestled between the waterfront and mountains; it bears the nickname, Alaska’s Little Switzerland. Enjoy a visit to the Valdez museum. Overnight in Valdez.

Day 3 • Valdez
Continental breakfast included this morning. Cruise today through majestic Prince William Sound and explore the three-mile face of the mighty Columbia Glacier. Keep your eyes open for seals, sea lions, otters, bald eagles, whales, dolphins and puffins.  Deli-style lunch is included on the cruise.  Overnight in Valdez.

Valdez/Fairbanks Day 4 • Valdez/Fairbanks
Enjoy a continental breakfast at your hotel. Board your motorcoach for the drive north to Fairbanks. The route takes you along the Wrangell – St. Elias National Park, the largest park in the U.S., and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline that runs 800 miles from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez.  Overnight in Fairbanks.

Day 5 • Fairbanks
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Fairbanks including a visit to the University of Alaska Museum. Cruise on the Chena River aboard a grand sternwheeler and experience the number one boat tour in North America featuring third and fourth generation Alaskan captains.  Travel back to the time when rivers were used as transportation and learn about Alaska Native culture at an Athabaskan Indian village.  Overnight in Fairbanks.

Day 6 • Fairbanks/Denali
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Ride the motorcoach south along the Parks Highway to Denali National Park. The afternoon is free to experience the many optional attractions in Denali including rafting, flightseeing, helicopter tours, hiking, Park Service programs or the Cabin Nite Dinner Theater. Overnight at Denali.

Day 7 • Denali National Park
Spend the morning at your leisure following the hotel breakfast buffet. This afternoon, travel deep into Denali National Park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour looking for bear, moose, caribou and Dall sheep. A snack box meal is included. Overnight at Denali.

Day 8 • Denali National Park/Anchorage
Sample the buffet breakfast at the hotel and spend the rest of the morning exploring Denali. In the afternoon board the world famous Alaska Railroad for the trip from Denali to Anchorage. As you travel along the Susitna River, you may catch a glimpse of the majestic Mt. McKinley, weather permitting. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 9 • Anchorage
Start your day with a breakfast at your hotel.  Enjoy a brief sightseeing tour of Anchorage including a visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Center, an interpretive center featuring native cultures. The rest of the day is open to explore until your evening farewell banquet. Feast Alaskan-style with your fellow traveling companions as you share tales from the road. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 10 • Denali/Anchorage
Your Grand Alaskan Tour comes to an end with a hotel courtesy transfer to the airport for departure. End of tour. (Or purchase meet/transfer upgrade service)
