Arrive in Anchorage where you will be met at the airport by a representative from Explore Tours who will review your travel documents with you and answer any questions you may have. Pick up your rental car and drive to your arrival hotel in Anchorage. |

2 • Anchorage/Denali
Your adventure begins today as you venture on the Glenn and Parks Highways north to Denali (approximately 5 hours, 237 miles, 381 km). Possible stops en route include Wasilla, home of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, or Talkeetna, the starting point for Mt.McKinley climbing expeditions. Upon arrival at the Denali Park entrance area, check in at your overnight accommodations.

3 • Denali National
Park
Get an early start this morning with a bus tour into Denali National Park. Learn more about the six million acres of wilderness and the wildlife that encompass this scenic Park. Be sure to bring your camera and look for moose, bears, caribou, and more! Return to the Park entrance for your overnight.

4 • Denali/Fairbanks
Continue your journey north to Alaska’s Golden Heart City, Fairbanks (approximately 3 hours, 125 miles, 201 km). Optional activities include gold panning, a tour on the Chena River, a salmon bake, and the University of Alaska Museum of the North. Overnight in Fairbanks.

5 • Fairbanks/Tok
Travel south on the Richardson and Alaska Highways to Tok (Approximately 5.5 hours, 206 miles, 331 km). Overnight in Tok.

6 • Tok/Dawson City
Depart Tok and cross the Canadian border on your drive to Dawson City (approximately 3.5 hours, 150 miles, 241 km) along the "Top of the World" Highway. Overnight in Dawson City.

The day is yours to experience the attractions of Dawson City. Optional activities in this historic Klondike town include gold panning excursions and Diamond Tooth Gertie’s. Overnight in Dawson City.

Travel south along the Klondike Highway to the community of Whitehorse (approximately 7.5 hours, 327 miles, 526 km). Relax this evening in the Yukon’s Capital city. Overnight in Whitehorse.

9 • Whitehorse/Haines Junction
Say goodbye to Whitehorse and continue your drive to Haines Junction, gateway to Yukon’s Kluane National Park (approximately 2.5 hours, 100 miles, 161 km). Overnight in Haines Junction.

Begin your day with a visit to the Kluane National Park Visitors Center. After learning what the Park has to offer, the remainder of the day is free for outdoor activities and sightseeing as you please. Overnight in Haines Junction.

Travel the Alaska Highway north to Tok (approximately 6.5 hours, 297 miles, 477 km). En route you may wish to make a rest stop at Kluane Lake or Beaver Creek. Welcome back to Alaska! Overnight in Tok.

Make your way to Chitina today, gateway to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park (approximately 4 hours, 204 miles, 328 km). Overnight in Chitina.

This morning board your scenic flight to McCarthy at the Chitina airport. Soak in the breathtaking mountain views from the sky. Upon arrival, transfer from McCarthy to Kennicott for your overnight.

Say goodbye to Kennicott and McCarthy as you board your return flight to Chitina. Pick up your vehicle and drive south on the Richardson Hwy through scenic Thompson Pass to the community of Valdez, located on the shores of Prince William Sound (approximately 2 1/2 hours, 116 miles, 187 km). Look for views of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline en route as well as Worthington Glacier. Overnight in Valdez. |
