The
Gingerbread House
Bed and Breakfast is also a great choice, with a hearty
breakfast. Nestled in the trees of
Girdwood, this cedar home offers top-shelf
accommodations, excellent food and
Swiss-Alaskan hospitality. There's
complimentary tea and coffee in each
room, and room service is available
for breakfast. Even better, enjoy breakfast
and Girdwood's forest while eating
on the deck.
The Gingerbread Chalet, next door
to the Bed and Breakfast, is a 1,600-square-foot
log home with three bedrooms, two and
a half bathrooms, a spacious living
and dining area, and a fully equipped
kitchen-perfect for families and small
groups. It has a hot tub and an outdoor
deck.
The Bed & Breakfast opened its doors
in 1997 when host Judith Achermann
moved from her native Switzerland to
Alaska. The Chalet opened its doors
in December 2004.
