Experiencing Alaska on the ground is gorgeous and fulfilling, but seeing this vast land from the air is only way to truly get a sense of the state’s vastness and breathtaking beauty. Get up in the sky with Natron Air and take in the awesome majesty—it’s an unforgettable experience.
You’ll be flying with Natron’s owner and pilot, Tim. Natron Air is the only operator that provides headsets to every passenger for ease of listening and talking with the Pilot. Up to seven passengers can go at once, and everyone’s guaranteed a window seat with special bubble windows, making your photographs even more dramatic. You have a couple options: exploring the Harding Ice Field or taking a glacier volcano tour. The Glacier Tour sets out from Soldotna, flies over the Cook Inlet oil platforms and refineries and out to the spectacular Mount Redoubt Volcano. You’ll then fly down the gorgeous piercing blue ice of Double Glacier and stare down into its mammoth crevasses. Finish by heading down to the wetlands, where you may get great views of beavers, wolves, moose, black and brown bears, shoreline seals, along with the Cook Inlet oil platforms and refineries before landing back in Soldotna.
Or choose to fly out to the Harding Ice Field, one of the world’s natural wonders, with up to 40 glaciers sprawled over its 300 square miles. You’ll fly up the Tustumena Glacier looking for Mountain Goats along the cliffs, traverse the Ice Fields along the Kenai Fjords and glide down the Skilak Glacier. Keep an eye out for wildlife like mountain goats, sheep, caribou, moose, and bear.
Both tours are about 1 hour and 15 minutes long.
