This trail worth the climb: you’ll find excellent views of Gastineau Channel, Juneau, and Douglas from here. There are many marmots, spruce grouse and other birds on this route, but also keep an eye out for bears. It’s a 4.5-mile climb of nearly 4,000 feet; the views begin below 2,000 feet. But you don’t have to hike it at all—there’s also a tram to the top.
