The Grand
Denali Park Lodge is one mile north of the Park entrance, but what really counts is its perch above the park. Set on a hill, this 166-room hotel offers a bright, contemporary version on the classic rustic lodge style with native Alaska art in the lobbies—and it arguably has the best views of the Alaska Range in the area. For a guaranteed view, please be sure to ask for a view room upgrade.
The Grande Denali rooms features colorful Alaskan décor and, at about 300 square feet, are some of the largest in the area. For even more space and rustic-luxury charm, choose one of the six Grande Cabins, which sleep four and feature kitchenettes, queen-size beds, private decks and hardwood floors.
At the Grande Denali’s front desk you can sign up for a long list of Denali activities, from guided walks through the Park, river rafting, flight-seeing tours and even dinner theater.
The Alpenglow Restaurant, which also has panoramic views of the Alaska Range, focuses largely on local cuisines, such as wild Alaskan Salmon, homemade seafood chowder and super-fresh halibut. It also offers the longest wine list in the area.
