As
you’d guess from the name, the
Glacier Brewhouse serves
up a spectrum of homemade beers. But
there’s
also a full spectrum of flavors on
the menu, mostly fresh seafood and
meats, which are roasted in the only
Alderwood-fired rotisserie in Alaska.
That rotisserie brings the appetizing
scent of wood-fired cooking to the
large, rustic dining room. As the
room buzzes with hungry patrons,
you can check out the brewing equipment
through the big glass wall, then
sit down and choose from a variety
of seafoods. Alaskan standards are
given a twist here, like the bourbon
barbeque salmon or the halibut southwestern,
which comes dusted with chipotle
pepper seasoning and sweet cilantro
crème. Meats are given equal
play, from the New York Strip (served
with bleu cheese mashed potatoes)
to the glazed pork loin chops. There’s
also a selection of pastas and pizzas,
salads, and classic desserts.
And here, the beer is just as important
as the food. Four standard beers
are complemented with a rotating
menu of seasonal brews, from the
oak aged stout to the cherry wheat.
