Alaskan entertainment, food, animals, attractions, and shopping: Alaska Wild Berry Park and Theater, just 10 minutes from downtown Anchorage, is your one stop for it all. Your most difficult task will be figuring out where to begin.
Perhaps you’ll start in the Wild Berry chocolate factory, where you can take a personal guided candy kitchen tour and see how some of the state’s most delicious chocolates are made. Try some of the free samples, then check out the world’s largest chocolate “water” fall—with more than 3,000 pounds of chocolate, it’s hard to miss.
Then it’s time for an award-winning movie at a state-of-the-art, 150-seat theater. Catch daily screenings of two Alaskan films: Alaska: The Land Beyond and Alaska Spirit of the Wind. Or maybe you’d prefer live entertainment. Alaskan legend Hobo Jim—named “Alaska’s state balladeer” by the governor—performs live concerts with real local flavor.
And along the way, you’ll have to eat. So head to the Wild Berry Park Grill – or to the Ice Cream Shop to find ice creams made with flavors you’ll only find here. Have a drink and relax at the Beer and Wine Garden.
You’ll need the energy for shopping for Alaskan products, like jams, jellies, salmon, meats, and of course chocolates, in the gift shop.
Finally, walk past the famous 20-foot-tall Inukshuk Rock Man and down a path to meet the resident reindeer—they’re perfect for petting.
Or change up the order of your visit. Either way, Alaska Wild Berry Park and Theater—and an afternoon or a day of fun—is just a quick ride from downtown. And they offer shuttle service from any Anchorage location.
