Set
off into backcountry Alaska
on your own ATV with Alaska
All-Terrain Tours. You’ll
drive over rocks, splash through
mud, and look for wildlife on
your way to the Knik Glacier.
Then drive right up to edge of
the glacier lake and enjoy a
picnic lunch.
Driving an ATV
is something most anyone can
do. After a short training session,
you’ll be in command of
your ATV, and a guide will lead
you and your group (typically
4-6 people) as you steer your
machine through the Alaskan wilderness.
Drive through forested trails,
across open valleys, up old mining
claim routes, past waterfalls,
and through streams. Your ATV
powers through—and over—just
about anything.
Your destination is deep in
the backcountry, away from tourists
and civilization—the way
Alaska should be experienced.
You’ll drive right up to
the face of the gorgeous Knik
Glacier, a towering river of
ice 28 miles long, some 5 miles
wide, and more than 1,000 feet
thick. Take a break and have
lunch while gazing around at
the peaks of blue ice that surround
you. Then hop back on your ATV for a thrilling, careening
ride home.
